  • Sudden jumps or stutters in movement.
  • Inconsistent frame durations in your editing timeline.

Causes of Frame-Drop Shedding

  • Variable frame-rate records (VFR).
  • Data overload on the card or slow drive causing dropped frames.

Fixes for Frame-Drop Shedding

  • Conform VFR to constant frame-rate in a transcoding step (e.g., Apple Compressor).
  • Enable “optical flow” or frame-blend interpolation for smoothing.
  • Use stabilization/filter plugins that fill gaps.
